Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, I formed an organization to provide sensible solutions with a passion for helping the voiceless be heard. We've consistently grown and will continue to help those suffering by speaking up and speaking out about suicide and mental health. Knocking out Stigmas.
Common Ground provides a lifeline for individuals and families in crisis, victims of crime, persons with mental illness, people trying to cope with critical situations and runaway and homeless youths. Helping people in need for more than 40 years, Common Ground serves more than 80,000 individuals per year. The majority of services are free of charge and 93% of every dollar received goes to direct services.
The two most important of these New Oakland alternatives are the State of Michigan-licensed FACE to FACE partial hospitalization program (PHP) and New Oakland’s team of Intensive Crisis Stabilization (ICS) therapists on call 24 hours/day to deploy in person and in real time. Fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), New Oakland is ideally suited to provide virtually any service on the mental health spectrum, from regular therapy and counseling visits to intensive support and intervention in a crisis.
We are a healthcare safety net organization that provides access to a full array of integrated services that facilitate individuals to maximize their level of function and create opportunities for quality of life.
